My name is Zack and I'm 16 years old. I'm home schooled and have been working on my rabbitry for the last three years. I live in NH with my family on our farm.
I've been wanting rabbits for a long time and do have two pet rabbits that I love. But I really wanted to get into breeding and showing rabbits. So when I finally convinced my parents to let me get another rabbit I got a Holland Lop. Their one of my favorite breeds. And thanks to a friend I'm just getting into Thrianta's and Silver Foxes. I also just added an English Lop to my rabbitry. I can't wait to start working with her. I'm so excited to start having kits.
I've spent a lot of time looking into the breeds that I have. I work with all my rabbits daily. Posing them, playing with them and grooming them. Not to mention cleaning out their pens. It's getting a little harder with each new rabbit. A good chunk of my day is spent with my rabbits. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
I've made most of my cages with the help from my Bumpa. He's also helped me to make chew toys, a showing table, nesting boxes and even feed dishes. A lot of this has been tied in with my school. My family and I just got done with my new barn it's a 12x12 gamble stye barn. I thought I'd have tons of room but when I started moving my rabbits in. It got filled up pretty quickly. The loft is were I keep my hay and other supplies that I don't need everyday.
I just started going to shows at the beginning of last year to show my rabbits. It's a lot of fun and very interesting to hear what the judges think about each rabbit.
I'm a 4-H member and also a member of ARBA. I'm also a member of the Thrianta, Silver Fox and Holland Lop Speciality Clubs.
Take a look around and tell me what you think.
Just remember it's a work in progress.
And A HUGE, THANK YOU to all the people that have helped me get started with my rabbits. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks for making my first year showing, breeding and starting my rabbitry so great. Can't wait to see what comes next. THANKS again.
